If our HPLC assay gives a 99.4% cefatazidime in as is basis, then how we will calaculate the same in dried and sodium carbonate free basis with the following available data.
LOD - 9.18%
for dried basis calculation
purity dried basis = purity as is basis X 100/100 - LOD
there fore, your purity on dried basis is 109.44%
for Na2 CO3 I actually dont Know but you can try with the above formula or try USP method for calculation

For first you should know, the standard what basis it’s qualified.
For Example(Standard as a Free Base)
Assay as HCl Salt = Assay as freebasex100
( 100-Chloride content)
If i have ceftazidime which the assay is 98,5% ceftazidime as dried basis and assay 72,5% ceftaxidime as on is basis (content of water 10,1 %; and content of sodium carbonate 16,3%).
if the dose in product is 1000 mg ceftazidime, how much the weight of waw material should be?
