Does anyone know where I can obtain good monoclonal antibodies to use on recombinant mouse prion protein (residues 23-231), both N- and C-terminal?
Try a company called :Morphosys, division Biogenesis. They have all kinds of monoclonal antibodies they even custom make antibodies by order in another division company called: Antibodies by Design. Scroll down sponsors list to find them.
Check with www.abcam.com, they have a very large number of antibodies.
D-Gen, Ltd. located in the UK now sells the ICSM series of anti-prion monoclonals developed by Dr. Collinge. www.d-gen.co.uk is their website. I personally have successfully used ICSM 18 (AA 143-153) and ICSM 35 (A93-102) for both Western blotting and immunoassays. The MAbs recognize across several species, including human, mouse, hamster, ovine and bovine PrP, increasing their general utility. One note of warning is that they are a bit on the expensive side.
I have been looking the past few days for antibodies to recognize the native PrPc and PrPsc of mouse.
So far, I think I have found some good candidates, but I am wondering if anyone here is a prion specialist and might be able to help me out with options.
I need an Ab that will recognize both PrPc and PrPsc in their native states - without denaturing or Proteinase
Also, an Ab that will recognize ONY PrPc in int native state.
And an Ab that will recognize ONY PrPsc in int native state.
I have found the following Abs:
R2 x x
POM2 x x
3F4 x (will not detect mouse PrP)
FH11 x x (not sure?)
ICSM35 x x
ICSM18 x x (weak)
I am not sure if all of these will detect the mouse PrP, and most of the useful ones I don't know where I could get them... Any ideas or knowledge on this topic?
Thanks very much!
