Dose anyone here works with Hydrogels.
I am looking into biomaterial replacement of the Nucleus Pulposus.
I am just starting to use hydrogels for tissue engineering applications...but I have no idea what Pulposus is? If you explain more maybe I can help.
Nucleus pulposus is the an area within the intervertebral disk wich has a jelly like substance. Its' main function is to distribute hydraulic pressure in all directions of the disk.
I think you may find good ideas in the papers I have attached...
I work with a kind of hydrogel call Konjac Glucomannan. I Think it can be suitable for some use in cartilage, skin, nerve repair. But this kind of research is just beginning. I hope that would be useful for you!
Do you have some references to send me?
PEG based hydrogels are the most widely used ones. Papers by Hubbell et al can be basically used for processing of hydrogels
