My question will probably sound stupid for experts. I need to perform ELISA and LFIA on fixed phytoplankton. The common fixative is lugol's iodine solution for practical reasons. Is there any cautions to take ?
I've done few experiments. I lost the signal with "high" concentrations of lugol 's iodine (>1%).
I couldn't find any detailed paper about the fixation mechanisms. I am sure it has been described .
I would be glad for any advices or papers .
Thanks in advance for your help.
