Edinburgh College of Art, Reid School of Music seeks a Graduate Studio Assistant to assist academic staff in the smooth delivery of programmes of study in Performance. You will provide keyboard accompaniment to Performance students during their seminars, in their individual practice and at examinations. You will work in a supportive capacity in the presence or vicinity of a lecturer whilst line managed by the Head of Music.

You will have excellent performing skills including the ability to sight read and to direct rehearsals. Recent knowledge of Music within Edinburgh College of Art is desirable.

The post is full time and fixed term and is available from September 2014. It is anticipated that the post will be for a duration of 37 weeks with exact start and end dates confirmed at interview.

Salary Scale: £18,185 – £20,374 per annum

NATURE OF THE ROLE

As this is a development opportunity, Graduate Studio Assistants are employed for one academic session only. The posts are full time and fixed term and are available from September 2014. It is anticipated that posts will be for a duration of 37 weeks. Exact start and end dates will be confirmed at interview. Work is concentrated during semester time during peak teaching and exam times. Annual leave will largely be taken at fixed times in the year outwith peak teaching and exam times and all leave must be taken within the 37 week period worked and by the end of the contracted period of work.
