Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Bluetongue virus Biology

The Laboratory of Viral Pathogenesis of the Institute of Comparative Medicine at the University of Glasgow Veterinary School is seeking a post-doc / research fellow with a PhD and research experience in RNA Virology. The position is for 24 months with possibility of renewal (£ 31,513- £ 35,469 pa).
The Laboratory of Viral Pathogenesis focuses on the study of retroviruses and Bluetongue virus (e.g. see Chessa et al, Science, 324: 532; Arnaud et al, PLoS Pathogens 3(11): e170; Dunlap et al, PNAS, 103: 14390; Mura et al, PNAS, 101: 11117-11122; Murcia et al, Journal of Virology 81: 1762).
The Laboratory of Viral Pathogenesis is funded by competitive grants from the Wellcome Trust, BBSRC, the National Institutes of Health (USA) and the Scottish Funding Council. The Laboratory is placed in the Henry Wellcome Building for Comparative Medicine in a beautiful park in the Garscube Estate at the University of Glasgow Veterinary School. The building is a £ 6.4 million state-of-the art research facility funded mostly by the Wellcome Trust. The University of Glasgow is one of the top research Institutions in the United Kingdom and enjoys a strong commitment to virology.
