Check International Journal of Oncology volume 24, number 4
from April 2004 with ISSN 1019-6439.
for e.g. the following article:
Microarray profiling of the effects of histone deacetylase inhibitors on gene expression in cancer cell lines. S.G. Gray, C.-N. Qian, K. Furge, X. Guo and B.T. Teh (Grand Rapids, MI, USA; Guangzhou, P.R. China) 751

What is it you are looking

What is it you are looking for here:

Are you looking for selevtive inhibitors of telomerase splice variants? eg. something that would inhibit hTERTalpha but not other telomerases?

Do you really need an inhibitor - or would an antisense approach to removing one alternative construct be feasible?

Are you asking for selective inhibitors of telomerase reverse transcriptase alternative splicing pathways?

The page number for the above

The page number for the above cited article is wrong (It's 733). The article is available online here:

I can't see the answer to your question within it though!

Dear freinds

Dear freinds

Thanks great for your replies.
I studied your answers.
I shouls say I really think that it is possible to induce some forms of alternatively splicied variants of telomerase without any activity, e.g alpha deletion is a dominant inhibitor of telomerase activity, and if we induce alternative splicing toward alpha deletion, we will reach the potential to reduce telomerase activity in tumors.

Thanks again.

What you're looking for is a

What you're looking for is a regulator of the alternative splicing?

What stage are you at with this - thinking of ideas to apply for a grant?

Alternative splicing of telomerase occurs during development so such regulators do exist within humans - though they are not yet characterised.

Treat it as a "textbook" drug discovery process - in which you've identified a putatitive target from the literature.

Dear Richard

Dear Richard
You think in a right manner. I'm thimking to this, for a grant. I want to induce full length hTERT to alpha deletion, beta deletion, alpha +beta deletion, insertion variants. I mean I need variants without telomerase activity.
Thanks

Dear Richard Taylor

Dear Richard Taylor

Today, I read your questions baout my asks, again. You asked me:( Are you looking for selevtive inhibitors of telomerase splice variants? eg. something that would inhibit hTERTalpha but not other telomerases?

Do you really need an inhibitor - or would an antisense approach to removing one alternative construct be feasible?

Are you asking for selective inhibitors of telomerase reverse transcriptase alternative splicing pathways?)

Would you please kindly let me know what are your approaches for every question? I mean what will be your suggestion, if I need selective inhibitors of telomerase alternative splicing pathway? Or, if I want to inhibit alpha deletion hTETR variant not others?

And finally, If I need to use anti-sence, How can I find the correct intron_exon boundaries of hTERT?
Can I find them by comparing the mRNA sequences of hTERT alternative spliced variants?

Thanks in advance.
