How to establish network in industry

Hello
I have a couple of questions to ask everyone:
******* FIRST QUESTION - I have been interested in beginning to develop contacts and connections within the biotech/ pharma companies. I wanted to start with looking to set up informational interviews with scientists already working, and speak to them to see what it is like.
The problem is I dont have any connections yet and when I go to the company websites they dont display the contact information of any of their employees, so how do I go about doing this? How do I get hold of the contact information of any of the scientists within the companies to even request for an informational interview when the contact details are not available on the websites?
*******SECOND QUESTION - I have a Masters degree with background in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. I want to know if HOSPITALS would in general have openings for such people with a background in scientific research?
Thank You.

I would start with Linked In

I would start with Linked In.  You can search for people based on your contacts in gmail or yahoo mail, etc and also invite them to join.  From there you can see who you know in a certain industry or a certain company.  It will also tell you if someone you knows someone (or someone who knows someone) up to three degrees away from you.
Alumni groups can also be helpful depending on the size of your alma mater.  The career center at your college might also keep alumni on file who work in certain fields who are willing to talk with younger alums.
Finally, see if the lab where you got your masters has any alumni who are out there working.  You will be pleasantly surprised how much people genuinely want to help you.  After all, some day it could be you helping them.

Hi
as you have a Mol bio background you can go to Research labs, even hospitals have mol labs but the best use of youe skills will be in Research lab rest as you decide , second thing is approacnimg the persons concerned in companies i think you can contact the HR department good companies have contact info for their HR departments you can search the pubMed for the respective scientist if he or she has any publications you can get the contact address from there rest you have use the local connections to get their details etc.
