Here is a site that goes over the essential components of what should (and should not) be covered in a short presentation to potential investors.
The above link is not working anymore,
I found a paper that explains how to prepare a good scientific presentation.
Hope it will help those who are looking for the above link
It seems as though you need to sign up and pay to benefit from the "clinic".
I sgree with you that this is an excellent source regarding presentation of a scientific paper.
However, VCs and angel investors consistently complain that scientists who want funding think they are supposed to give a scientific paper.
The VCs' main concern is making back a multiple of their money in a linited number of years. They want to know things including what need of society will be addressed, who the buyers will be, what sort of capital equipment will be required and whether the PI has any business sense or is teachable.
Some of the highest quality innovations have not made a penny. There is much more to consider in addition to merit.
