Postdoctoral Scientist in Innate Immunity

Job Description:

Seeking talented, highly motivated, and successful individual to join Biogen Idec's formal postdoctoral training program and create an innovative laboratory research project in conjunction with mentor in immunology and fibrosis. Primary goal will be to discover and understand novel engagements of innate immunity in tissue scarring. The candidate will design, conduct, and evaluate experiments; leverage technology and partners’ skills; present and publish accomplishments; connect with scientific community including through meetings and collaborations. Ability to cooperate in advancing group’s research is essential. Further information about the program can be found at

Established record of creativity and scientific excellence as evidenced by career trajectory and peer-reviewed research publications. Candidate must demonstrate a high level of motivation and scientific curiosity along with excellent communication, collaboration and technical skills. Must be theoretically and experimentally adept with a proven track record in a relevant field including damage-induced immune responses; inflammasomes; cellular metabolic and mitochondrial dysfunction; inflammation; fibroblast, macrophage, or epithelial cell biology.

PhD and related expertise; prior post-doctoral experience welcome.
Proven publication record with at least one significant first author paper.
