Opening For Head of Scientific Affairs - London

 The role-holder would report directly to the Director of the Centre, contributing to scientific strategy and policy for the Centre. In co-operation with the Director, the role-holder will contribute to the external image of the Centre. They will establish relationships and networks with other research institutions, be responsible for the Centre website and work with King’s College London Public Relations to help prepare news for the media and respond to public questions about our research activity.
The role-holder will support our academic staff in preparing grant proposals and identify research funding opportunities. They will support the Director in the organisation of the Centre and develop training programmes for junior researchers.
The candidate should have some knowledge of theories, principles and concepts of cellular and/or molecular biology, having a PhD in neuroscience or other relevant biomedical discipline would be an advantage. The role might suit someone who has some post-doctoral training experience and also has work experience in an administration/management role outside of the laboratory. The candidate should be an excellent communicator, strategic thinker and have the ability to manage several projects at once. This is a fixed term post for 1 year.
Salary: Grade 7: £39,685 – £47,328 per annum,
plus £2,323 London allowance per annum
