1. Job Purpose
This role is responsible for the effective and efficient management of the legal department, provision of legal advisory services and ensuring effective management of legal and contractual risks.
2. Key Responsibilities
This role will manage the following portfolio - Legal risk, policy development, litigation management, formulating regulatory compliance check-list and ensuring adherence to the same, international contract negotiation and supervision of the legal team. Working closely with the Human Resources Department.
3. Core Competencies
This role requires the following key capabilities - logical thinking, excellent listening and writing skills, providing direction amidst ambiguity, excellent collaborative skills with internal and external stakeholders, excellent presentation skills, understanding various aspects of law and compliance needs of a corporate entity, applying theoretical concepts to practical scenarios and providing direction.
4. Required Education Qualifications
Masters In Law from a reputed school.
5. Experience Required
A minimum of 8 years legal experience with a leading organization(s) and a minimum of at least 4 years in corporate legal divisions. Proven ability to perform under extremely challenging situations on the litigatiion side.Demonstrated capabilities in high pressure situations. Talented in providing legal vision where required and assert oneself amidst conflicting viewpoints. Proven experience on the regulatory and compliances side. Ability to pull the team along towards the goal.
6. Soft Skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, team player and capable of developing subordinates. Ability to pay attention to details, listen carefully and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
7. Technical Skills
Must be adept at labour laws, statutory and regulatory aspects, IP, Trademarks, Copyrights and ability to assess the legal risks of contracts. Must have proven ability in all these aspects and must be able to drive the legal vision of the team.acte
