This high-performance individual will manage current business and identify new opportunities within existing accounts, as well as identify, pursue and close new opportunities within his/her territory. Responsibilities include direct sales of the company’s products and/or services, including expression and genotyping technologies within a geographic territory of academic and government accounts. Must develop and maintain strategic account plans, and provide accurate forecasts and reports of sales activity. Must be able to communicate technical information on genomics and genetics to a sophisticated audience, identify and propose solutions to the research community. The sales territory is select Boston Academic Accounts and one account in Maine.
Requires an BS/BA degree in Biological Science or related field with a minimum of 5 years proven sales experience in life science. Must possess excellent sales skills, including prospecting, negotiating, listening and closing. Superior communication and interpersonal skills is a must. Must have a strong technical background in Genetics or Genomics. This position requires 20-30% travel. Knowledge of key accounts and key researchers. Must be able to effectively maintain a home office.
