 Dear Sir / Madam,

 Dear Sir / Madam,
I trust that my enclosed resume will demonstrate to you that I have the qualifications you are seeking for.
Now, I have submitted my PhD thesis (in Applied Biological Sciences) at Ghent University, Belgium and awaiting graduation soon. During my doctorate studies I have optimized chromatographic methods for the quantification of selenium species and monitor trace metal behaviour in food crops by HPLC-ICP-MS and ICP-OES.  The project work has been carried out in close collaboration with various research groups from Laboratory of Microbial Ecology and Technology, Belgium and Institute for Agricultural and Fisheries Research (ILVO), Belgium. As a scientific researcher for the analytical aspects, I was responsible for planning, executing and advancing the project. During my PhD I have broadened my skills on trace metal behavior in soils and plants, and improved my project management and interpersonal skills.
I have proven track record of scientific research as well as hands-on experience in using a wide range of analytical techniques and able to assess the range of inorganic pollutants in the environment. As a recent graduate out from a reputed university, I bring the energy and commitment to excellence and therefore thrive in your organization's innovative environment. While doing my PhD I learned to appreciate working in goal oriented and interdisciplinary teams in highly international environment. Through my previous experience, which have particularly dealt with trace metals in soil-plant systems and reported/submitted to international journals according to international guidelines during my PhD. I am certain that I could give you valuable assistance in satisfying research demands, quality assessment, planning and managing the key projects. I am convinced that my education, expertise, flexibility to adapt to new working conditions and my passion to continue my career make me a potential candidate for this position. Kindly consider my application. I would highly appreciate the opportunity to discuss my qualifications with you.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
 Yours sincerely,
