Develop state-of-the-art analytical methods for characterizing biotherapeutics including proteins, monoclonal antibodies and antibody-drug-conjugates (ADCs). Utilize a variety of multi-platform mass spectrometry approaches (peptide mapping and intact mass analysis) and state-of-the art LC/MS instrumentation (Q-TOF, MALDI MS, ion trap, and triple quadrupole) to characterize glycoproteins and novel drug conjugates. Identify proteins and determine conjugation site, process MS data, elucidate macromolecular structures including protein sequence confirmation, post translational modification analysis, and determination of conjugation and glycosylation site using various U/HPLC software and related MS knowledge. Develop and optimize U/HPLC separation methods for peptide mapping, glycan, and other analyses; process and compile complex analytical data; operate, maintain, and troubleshoot instruments. Work collaboratively with multi-groups in new drug development; interact, consult, and develop LC/MS analytical methods to address emerging issues in process. Provide technical support: perform sample analysis, deliver reliable results, and advise other R&D functional groups in drug development. Author technical reports, SOPs, analytical method protocols, and contribute results for drug filings and regulatory submissions.
Candidate must have a Masters or foreign equivalent degree in Analytical Chemistry or directly related field and a minimum of 5 years of industry experience in biotherapeutics analysis with LC/MS. Must have experience in and demonstrated hands-on proficiency in protein characterization, post translational modification determination, glycosylation analysis, and detailed structural elucidation of large biomolecules, particularly proteins, antibodies, antibody drug conjugates, and glycoproteins; extensive hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of separation technologies (e.g. HPLC and UPLC) and multi-platform mass spectrometry systems, especially Q-TOF, ion trap, MALDI MS platforms; experience and expertise in mass spectrometry and U/HPLC related software. Good knowledge of mass spectrometry and ability to interpret MS data are critical requirements.
