The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy invites applications for two tenure-track positions in the area of synthetic medicinal chemistry. One of the appointments will be considered only at the Associate/Full professor level, depending on qualifications. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field. Desired characteristics include a strong academic record, an internationally recognized research program involving synthetic medicinal/(bio)organic chemistry and a commitment to interdisciplinary research in the pharmaceutical sciences. Individuals with interests in design and synthesis of small drug molecules and/or synthesis of natural products, or solid phase combinatorial/parallel synthesis are especially encouraged to apply. The selected individuals will be expected to sustain a competitive, extramurally supported research and graduate training program, and will have the ability and commitment to contribute to the professional and graduate education activities in the College of Pharmacy.
The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, located within the College of Pharmacy, is a component of the University of Kentucky Medical Center, an interdisciplinary education, healthcare and research center with an emphasis in areas of strength that include cancer, neuroscience and cardiovascular disease.
