Opening For Study Nurse - University of York

Job Ref:     4058

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Study Nurse to join the Epidemiology & Cancer Statistics Group (www.ecsg.york.ac.uk), a multi-disciplinary research team based in the Department of Health Sciences. As the successful candidate you will form part of an established team working on ECSG’s key project, the Haematological Malignancy Research Network (HMRN - www.hmrn.org). HMRN is a unique, specialist population-based cancer registry that was established in 2004 and registers and collects diagnostic, prognostic and treatment data on over 2200 newly diagnosed patients each year.

You should be a qualified nurse ideally with experience in haematology and/or oncology. You will join an established team of nurses and will be responsible for the abstraction and processing of high quality, complex, clinical prognostic and outcome data from patient records in hospitals across the region. Willingness to travel is an essential part of the post.

The post is available immediately for 18 months in the first instance. The hours of work are up to 37 per week.

Informal enquiries regarding the role may be made to Dr Debra Howell (debra.howell@ecsg.york.ac.uk, 01904 321895) or Dr Alex Smith (alex.smith@ecsg.york.ac.uk, 01904 321884).
