7 Posts (Fixed Term)
The University of Cambridge and the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute are offering 7 Wellcome Trust funded PhD fellowships for clinicians to start by December 2015. The fellowships provide full funding for salary, University and College fees and research consumables for 3 years*. There is also funding for an additional 3 months to allow successful applicants to experience different research groups before choosing their PhD supervisor. Candidates who are interested in computational biology, epidemiology or public health can be funded for an additional 1-year MPhil in order to obtain the appropriate skills before starting their PhD.
It is anticipated that many candidates will have already commenced their specialist training, but this is not essential. The most important criteria we are looking for are academic excellence and the potential to pursue a career in academic medicine.Further details are available from http://www.mrl.ims.cam.ac.uk/phd/WTPhDclinicians.htm or the Programme Administrator, Teresa Wallman (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
Please apply by email with a current CV, a 1 page statement on why you would like to join our programme and whether you would consider a fellowship based at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, and the names and email addresses of three academic referees to Teresa Wallman, (email@example.com).
