Scope of Position:
Provide engineering skills for CET Green End including equipment design and specification, installation, upgrade existing equipment, start up, debug, and trouble shoot. This includes Wet End equipment to the green saws.
Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Design, Equipment component specification
  • Equipment installation and start up
  • Identify develop and transfer technologies from outside suppliers for process improvement initiatives
  • Interface with other equipment disciplines – Electrical, Controls, IT, and external suppliers
  • Use of CAD Systems
  • Lead and interface with project teams
  • Use the scientific method to drive to fundamental understanding
  • Uses engineering principles and data to solve problems, including production issues
  • Uses rigorous tools to deliver results including problem analysis, potential problem analysis, risk assessment, DMAIC methodology, and innovation
  • Translate work, solution, and directions into presentations to leadership and partners that can be understood and are actionable

Projects Involved with:

  • New product introduction
  • Capability improvements
  • Cost reduction
  • Production support

Role within Group:

  • Grow into a division subject matter expert for Green End Equipment and operation
  • Support Manufacturing sites through troubleshooting and design
  • Technical liaison between Development, Engineering, and Manufacturing
  • Influence division-wide Green End initiatives

Travel Requirements: 10-25%, some international is possible
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: Typically 8-5, but some off hours support is required
Education and Experience:
Minimum: B.S. 0 -5 years of experience, Mechanical Engineering preferred
Required Skills:

  • Mechanical equipment design skills and equipment specification
  • CAD
  • Structural analysis (FEA)
  • Material understanding (metallurgy, steel)
  • Sound engineering background
  • Use of scientific method to solve challenging problems
  • Ability to use data to drive to solutions
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Practical approach to solutions for problems
  • Strong drive to succeed and implement solutions

Desired Skills:

  • Extrusion experience in CET
  • Experience leading and supporting Capital projects
  • Experience with Six Sigma DMAIC principles
  • Teamwork in a multicultural environment
  • Experience with innovation and transferring technology from development to production
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
