Key Responsibilities

  • Electrical records
  • Electrical PM’s And Electrical Integrity PM’s
  • MSHA rules and regulations and applicable codes and regulatory requirement
  • Standardization of plant electrical equipment

·         Maintenance Engineering projects (projects expensed to the cost center)
·         Radiation Safety Officer
·         DCS and PI software
·         Maintenance equipment files
·         MOC’s


·         Maintain the electrical records

  • Create, track and log electrical PM’s
  • Create, track and log MI PM’s
  • Participate in MI audits
  • Electrical on demand maintenance engineering
  • Work with Project Engineers for standardization of plant electrical equipment
  • Conduct safety and house keeping audits / behavior audits
  • Make inspections of working area
  • Reliability
    • Root cause failure analysis
    • Ultra sonic testing
    • Thermography
    • Equipment reliability improvements
  • Identify opportunities for equipment improvement and cost reductions (SAP)
  • Develop implementation plan for equipment improvement and cost reductions
  • Assist capital and plant areas on major equipment overhauls
  • Interface with outside vendors to improve process / equipment reliability
  • Assists with programming for VFD start-ups
  • Program PLC’s
  • Create and support DCS and PI software
  • Perform Maintenance Weekend Duty
  • Plant power system design and maintenance (troubleshooting)
  • Oversee the electrical maintenance on the mine hoists
  • Analyze cathodic protection and recommend repairs
  • Analyze ground grids
  • Maintain maintenance equipment files
  • Troubleshoot plant electrical problems
  • Create as-built drawing and forward to project engineering
  • Support ISO 9000 efforts
  • Support Responsible Care program


Required Education:

  • B.S. in Engineering in an appropriate electrical discipline




Electrical maintenance experience preferred
