Nanjing University Faculty Positions
Nanjing University – The New Institute of Chemistry and BioMedical Sciences (ICBMS) which is led by Drs. Aaron Ciechanover (the 2004 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry) and Guigen Li, seeks applications for 4-6 tenure track and tenured faculty positions in chemistry and biology at all levels. Areas of research are not limited, but will cover those where there is a potential for translation.
These include synthetic organic chemistry, biochemistry, cellular, molecular and developmental biology, disease mechanisms (cancer, neurodegeneration, inflammation, and metabolic diseases), bio-organic/medicinal chemistry, protein chemistry and proteomics, genomics, and computational biology and bioinformatics.
We are particularly interested to build infrastructural platforms in proteomics (mass spectrometry), genomics, live cell and animal imaging, small molecules screening, structural biology (X-Ray crystallography and NMR spectroscopy) and bioinformatics. These infrastructural platforms will be directed by PIs conducting their own research programs that will be provided with additional resources to assist other groups in the Institute and the University to use these platforms. Ph.D. and a successful postdoctoral experience are required.
Nanjing University is among the top ranked universities in China. ICBMS is established to foster high quality collaborative interdisciplinary research in the interface between chemistry and biomedical sciences. We will provide a generous and highly competitive start-up funds and salaries to the selected exceptional applicants who will work in a newly established state-of-the-art facility and exciting environment.
Applications should include: (1) curriculum vita; (2) summary of research achievements; (3) statement of proposed research; and (4) three letters of recommendation.
