Lecturer in Crop Science

Applications are invited for the post of College Lecturer in Crop Science within the Section “Animal and Crop Sciences” in the School of Agriculture and Food Science. The appointee will join a team within the Subject “Crop Science” who are involved with teaching and research in areas such as cereals, root and alternative crops, bioenergy and grassland. The appointee will provide support to the existing programme in areas such as crop production, crop genetics and breeding, plant pathology and plant physiology, particularly at undergraduate level but also at postgraduate level. The appointee will be expected to have expertise in at least one of the listed disciplines and actively contribute to the research output, operation and general academic responsibilities of the Section. It is a requirement that the appointee will develop a postgraduate research programme and will represent UCD both nationally and internationally in crop science.
2010 Lecturer Scale: €50,807 – €81,452 per annum
*2011 Lecturer Scale: €45,726 – €73,307 per annum
Subject to all new entrants to public sector as of 01 January 2011
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
