At the Laboratory for Visual and network dynamics a position as a postdoc or assistant professor is open from May the 1’st or as soon as possible thereafter.
Job description
The duties are scientific experiments and publication of results.
To understand how the network of cortical neurons creates vision of the physical surroundings, we record changes in membrane potentials with voltage sensitive dyes and record laminar action potentials from several visual areas simultaneously with ultra-fast equipment.
The candidate will run several such experiments and engage in the data analysis together with computational neuroscientists.
The applicant must have experience with in vivo electrophysiological recordings
from single or multi-units and fleuency in English. Knowledge of advanced data analysis and some basic programming (Matlab® / Octave/ C) is an advantage as is a certificate in laboratory animal science (FELASA C or comparable).
For the post of assistant professor
Documented scientific qualifications, such as internationally peer reviewed published articles in international scientific periodicals and good collaborative skills.
Period of employment
Two years with possibility of extension.
Terms of employment
The post will be filled according to the Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.
Postdoctoral position salarry will be Scale 6 of The University of Copenhagen
The Assistant professor salary will be Scale 8.

In English with a full curriculum vitae with documentation of education and a complete list of publications.
For the assistant professorship a maximum of 10 relevant scientific works which the applicant wishes to be included in the assessment.
Documentation of teaching experience, guidance of students at the Bsc, MSc, and PhD level.
