We are seeking an experienced academic biomedical scientist to join our friendly, enthusiastic and successful team as Head of the Biomedical Science Division of the School of Pharmacy, and Course Leader for our BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science. You will manage a team of 11 academic staff with a broad range of expertise in research, teaching and professional activities, and contribute towards the School’s scholarly and research activities and the development and teaching of biomedical sciences at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will also be involved in the management of the School.
 
We are seeking a person, who, through their professional experience, teaching, scholarly and research activity, is capable of acting as a leader within the School and will maintain and enhance Portsmouth’s substantial reputation in biomedical sciences.
 
You will be expected to contribute to the teaching and research programmes of the School and to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects. Applications from individuals with expertise in any sub-discipline of biomedical science are welcomed.
 
Short-listed candidates will be invited to visit the School and present a seminar prior to interview.
