Required Qualifications: Education in a specific field directly related to research or program. One year experience directly related to the project or program and should be familiar with molecular biology/biochemistry laboratory procedures.
Preferred Qualifications: BS or equivalent in a scientific degree. Experience in yeast genetics.
Brief Description of Duties: The Research Technician will be the support technician for a research lab of eight people. The position requires keeping track of purchases as well as maintenance of lab reagent supplies, media, and glassware. In addition, the incumbent, under supervision of the PI, will participate in research projects aimed at understanding the process of yeast sporulation.
- Yeast genetics.
- Cell biology techniques.
- Media preparation.
- Order supplies and record keeping.
- Wash and sterilize glassware.
- Molecular biology techniques.
- Lab maintenance tasks.

Special Notes: This is a full time position, 40 hours per week, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m, days vary. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation.
