Are you interested in a leading role in New Zealand’s crop science?
Reporting to the General Manager of Science for Sustainable Production, you will lead the Institute’s newest Science Group, created to meet the expanding research needs of New Zealand’s arable, forage and vegetable crops industries. The Group conducts research on the agronomy, physiology, environmental responses and modeling of diverse crops from its bases at Lincoln and Hawke’s Bay.
Dividing your time between leading experienced scientific staff, contributing as an active scientist and interacting with the field crops industries, you will establish and guide the strategic direction and development of the Group’s research with a focus on establishing high standards of delivery, project management and quality outputs. You will position your people to succeed with your constructive approach and your ability to develop others, encouraging collaborations both nationally and internationally.
With an appropriate postgraduate qualification and proven leadership ability, you will combine a strong record of achievement in a relevant science area and in leading high impact research programmes with a sound knowledge of the cropping industries.
