We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the field of Youth Mental Health at The School of Psychology, University of Birmingham. This is a collaborative project between the university and Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust through its youth mental health service Youthspace to investigate the onset of mental disorders in young people. In particular, the work will investigate the relevance of a clinical staging model to guide treatment and prognosis of these illnesses.

The post holder will be responsible for developing a number of clinical research projects, including longitudinal studies of early psychosis, running intervention studies, and developing our clinical staging model. They will also analyse previously acquired data and work in close collaboration with another research fellow with responsibility for neuroimaging research.

You should have or expect to have a PhD or equivalent in the area of youth mental health, ideally involving large longitudinal datasets and clinical samples, along with clinical qualifications as a psychologist (preferably with experience as a neuropsychologist).
