The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Influenza Division, Atlanta, GA seeks applications for a Microbiologist to study the molecular pathogenesis of highly pathogenic influenza viruses. Research projects encompass broad areas of immunology, molecular mechanisms of viral replication, and pathogenesis of avian influenza subtypes, including potentially pandemic strains. Duties will include growth and purification of influenza viruses, laboratory assays to measure humoral and cellular immune responses, small animal work to address the pathogenesis and virus-host interactions. The Influenza Branch is housed in a start-of-the-art facility with BSL-3Ag laboratory capacity. The position will serve within the Immunology and Pathogenesis Branch and is at the GS-12/13 level, with salary commensurate with experience. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. with experience in molecular biology and virology. For more information contact Dr. Terrence Tumpey; email eval(unescape('%64%6f%63%75%6d%65%6e%74%2e%77%72%69%74%65%28%27%3c%61%20%68%72%65%66%3d%22%6d%61%69%6c%74%6f%3a%54%54%75%6d%70%65%79%40%63%64%63%2e%67%6f%76%22%3e%54%54%75%6d%70%65%79%40%63%64%63%2e%67%6f%76%3c%2f%61%3e%27%29%3b')) Please submit curriculum vitae and the names and contact information of three referees to Ms. Andrea Adgie (AAdgie@cdc.gov) no later than April 14, 2007.
