Measuring action potential profile in current clamp recordings

Hello everyone!

I do current clamp intracellular sharp-electrode recordings in invertebrate neurons, to record spontaneous burst firing. I want to analyze various parameters of the action potential in Clampfit, such as spike amplitude, duration, rise time, afterhyperpolarization, etc.

I was using the Statistics function to do this, but my PI raised the concern that we don't know HOW the program is making the measurements. Does anyone have any experience in measuring spike profile using the Clampfit program?

Thanks so much!

Nancy
