Statistical symbol for mean

Does anyone know how to type the statistical symbol for mean, "X" with a bar over it, in Word? I've seen it many times in text but can not locate it in Microsoft Word. I don't have the option to change to its arithmetic symbol, the Greek letter "", as I am referring to a formula containing the specific statistical symbol.

x can be copied and pasted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Table_of_mathematical_symbols

OR  in word 2007 click Ctrl F9

into the gray field box that appears insert the following :  EQ \O(X,¯)

if you are working in 12 point Make the "X" italicised and 8 point
Make the "-" twice the font of the X i.e 16 point and make it superscript

Now right click on the field and select "toggle field" to see the result
