...cell capacitance different and current amplitude similar

 Hi

I´m doing some recordings in HEK cells and comparing the responses between two cell groups; I saw that sometimes the amplitudes and decay of the currents are similar, however the capacitance (and because that the current density too) are different between different groups of cells. Is normal that only the capacitance is different even the amplitude is similar? Which can be the reason?

Thanks.

I think the capacitance has a

I think the capacitance has a relationship with the cellular size.
The ionic current has a relationship with the expression of the channels.

Thus, I do not feel strange that the capacitance is differnet even the ionic current (through the channel) is similar.

Hope this helpful.

...the point is why should the size (and because that the capacitance) be different between cultures keeped in the same conditons?

 Eh..I suggest you fix the

Eh..I suggest you fix the cells or do intracellular labeling and look at the size difference.
