Postdoctoral positions are available to work on computational biology projects in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at the University of Minnesota.
The projects involve antimicrobial peptides, peptide-membrane, protein-ligand and protein-protein docking calculations, calculation of binding free energy of biomolecular interactions, and use of this information to engineer new biomolecules (e.g. antimicrobial peptides).
Applicants should have or expect to receive a doctoral degree in computational sciences (chemistry, biology, physics) or engineering or other related area and have experience in computer simulations of biomolecular systems. Working knowledge of classical mechanical simulations software (e.g. CHARMM, NAMD) and of modeling software (e.g. InsightII, Sybyl, MOE) is considered essential.
