Fluidigm is seeking for an outstanding individual to join a vibrant interdisciplinary group of bioinformatics and application scientists to develop novel single analysis methods/systems to enable scientists to understand fundamental biological processes. 

Essential duties include but are not limited to: 
Develop computational solutions to address biologically relevant questions. 
Integrate/Implement publicly available analysis methods into Fluidigm data analysis products. 
Be an active member of the bioinformatics’ team, working with application scientists, customers, and product managements. 
Manage multiple projects at one time, switching focus between projects as required to management priorities.

Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or a related field. 
5+ years working experience in data modeling and analysis for biological research. 

Extensive experience with mathematical modeling and statistics for biological data. 
Strong knowledge of statistics, algorithms and exploratory data analyses. 
Proficient in biological sequence analysis and the analysis of next-generation sequencing data. 
Detailed knowledge of algorithms underlying common NGS and statistical analysis tools. 
Proficiency in statistical analysis package, such as R. 
Good understanding biochemistry and genetics. 
Experience with single cell data analysis a strong plus. 
Thrive in a fast paced work environment that requires independent self-direction with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication.
