Job Description

Title: Clinical Support Manager, Japan

Reporting to: Country Manager, Japan

Location: Kawasaki, Japan

Oxford Immunotec is an innovative diagnostics company with novel diagnostic technology to measure disease-specific T-cell responses. The company was established in 2002 based on University of Oxford’s technology and now markets its products to over 40 countries and employs over 150 people in Europe, US and Japan.

Japan remains one of our biggest untapped markets and you will be joining a vibrant team building our Japanese business. This position is responsible for carrying out all aspects of technical support (and sales support) activities for customers to achieve competence with our products. This role involves extensive national travel within Japan and occasional international travel.

Specific deliverables for the role are:

1. To train customers on effective use of T-SPOT.TB test, related products and equipments
2. Troubleshooting customer issues and responding to technical enquires
3. To attend conferences to support sales promotion
4. Making presentations to clinical groups on our products and their clinical benefits
5. To manage the product support information and communication flow between customer and all relative internal departments.
6. To generate ideas to enhance the product or service


Technical skills and abilities
• Degree-level qualifications in a Life Science
• Experience (minimum 2 years) working in a laboratory and technical knowledge of laboratory techniques
• Capability in effectively presenting technical subjects to laboratory staff and ideally clinicians
• Commercial awareness. Prior sales experience would be an advantage
• You must be fluent in speaking and writing in Japanese and English

• Good communication skills

• Organised and logical, capable of operating in an SOP driven organisation
• Ability to manage and answer to customers’ expectations
