Clinical Trials Project Leader I job in Durham, NC

 Position Overview 
The DCRI Center for Educational Excellence (CEE) is seeking a project leader to help manage a growing portfolio of quality improvement educational initiatives. In coordination with faculty leaders and CEE leadership, this position will create plans and protocols for assigned projects, and will oversee their implementation and evaluation. The position will also contribute to CEE leadership’s strategic understanding of future areas for growth and development in the area of quality and performance improvement through educational interventions. The position will report directly to the CEE Director of Operations. 

Job Responsibilities: 

Program Development 
- Confer with program PIs in developing plans and protocols for CEE education outcomes programs, the implementation of those programs and the coordination of data collection in preparation for manuscript publication and project reporting. 

- Collaborate with program PIs and CEE leadership to review program protocols and design to ensure feasibility. 

- Collaborate with CEE business development team to develop and implement effective program budgets and shepard program contracts through review and approval process. 

- Develop project plans to include program timelines, deliverables and delegation of individual roles and responsiblities. 

- Assist program PIs, program coordinators and involved CEE staff in the development of implementation strategies, collection of relevant data, identification of barriers to success, and implementation of appropriate interventions. 

- Collaborate with program PIs, internal DCRI function groups, and other parties involved in the projects on the collection and interpretation of program data and the translation of that data into manuscripts for publications in high impact journals. 

- Collaborate with program PIs, CEE and DCRI PR and Communications staff and efforts to effectively disseminate program results at major medical conferences and through appropriate media outlets. 

- Communicate with program sponsor(s) and partners on status of program timelines and deliverables. 

Overall CEE Responsibilities 
- Work with the team of program managers and other coordinators to successfully implement a growing portfolio of CEE education outcomes programs. These responsibilities involve 

- Working with CEE senior managers to assess areas of potential growth for further educational outcomes programming 

- Liaising with Duke and non-Duke partners involved in educational outcomes programs to support current programming needs and enhance future collaborative relationships. 

- Provide evidence (scientific needs assessment and/or financial forecasts) supporting recommendations. 

Ideal candidate will possess clinical trials project management experience to include: addressing project forecasting issues, identifying complex changes, developing scope of work, leading and managing out of scope changes, leading negotiation conversations with sponsors independently, developing and managing project budget, and collaborating with faculty and other functional groups. Prefer experience managing multiple projects. Clinical background also a plus.

Work requires graduation from an accredited degree program providing 
clinical training as a Registered Nurse (RN), Physician's Assistant 
(PA) or Pharmacist plus two years of healthcare experience, or one of 
the following equivalents: 

1. Completion of an allied health degree (e.g., Respiratory 
Therapy, Radiologic Technology, Licensed Practical Nurse) or Associates 
degree in Clinical Trials Research related curriculum plus a 
minimum of five years healthcare experience; or 
2. Completion of a master's degree in Public Health, Health 
Administration or a related area with one year directly related 
clinical trials research experience; or 

3. Completion of a bachelor's degree plus a minimum of three 
years directly related experience in clinical trials research; or 

4. Completion of a bachelor's degree plus a minimum of four years 
closely related research experience. 

**State of North Carolina license may be required.**
