Contract Type: Fixed-term for two years
This new post will offer you a comprehensive experience of clinical academic medicine in Endocrinology, Rheumatology, Care of the Elderly or other relevant specialty, working alongside internationally renowned Clinicians and Biologists. You will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic clinical trainee interested in musculoskeletal ageing, wishing to excel in both your clinical and academic training with the ambition to be amongst the next generation of leading academic clinicians.
You will integrate with a multidisciplinary team of research clinicians and scientists with access to an array of laboratory techniques and advanced research tools to conduct high quality, clinically relevant research. A range of projects will be available to suit your research interests, but these will be focussed around developing a better understanding of the mechanisms and treatments of musculoskeletal ageing.
The post is aimed at post-MRCP candidates with a demonstrable commitment to any speciality relevant to musculoskeletal ageing. The fellowship will provide research training in ageing research for two years to allow you to build a foundation for application to external agencies for funding to complete an MD degree.
You will show evidence of clinical and academic excellence, as well as evidence of commitment to your chosen speciality and to an academic career.
