Role Description 
This role is the European and Emerging/Global Markets Clinical Sciences Lead for one or more medicines, providing strategic input to the global clinical strategy to ensure that it addresses the specific needs or requirements of Europe and key Emerging/Global Markets. In addition, the individual in this role may be responsible for high quality and timely delivery of interventional clinical trials as part of the overall global clinical programme, applying technical excellence in the design of cost-efficient clinical trials to meet the needs of internal and external customers, ensuring effective conduct and medical/scientific oversight of studies, and supporting appropriate interpretation and communication of clinical trial data. They ensure compliance with internal and external standards, proactively mitigate risk and manage emerging clinical issues. They may also manage one or more Study Clinicians. 

•Required: M.D., Ph.D., D.V.M., M.S., and/or Pharm.D or equivalent qualifications.
•Preferred: Postgraduate training/certification /fellowship in a medical discipline relevant to GIPB programmes (especially Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Inflammation, Immunology) or in drug development. Demonstrated scientific productivity (e .g . doctoral thesis, publications, research reports, etc). 
•Required: Proven track record of being a successful Study Clinician (preferably in late phase development, or post-approval, as applicable to role).
•Preferred: Thorough understanding of local / international regulations applicable to clinical trials (pre and post approval). Experience in medical practice or clinical trials in one of the following disease areas: Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Inflammation, Immunology.
