An exciting opportunity has now arisen for a senior operational role in the Drug Development Unit (DDU) to support the DDU Director and Deputy Director. This is a new and strategically important role. The post holder’s responsibilities will include providing strategic leadership and senior personnel management across the DDU as well as overseeing the operational, regulatory and financial aspects of the DDU’s clinical, translational and laboratory work. The post holder will also help lead the DDU leadership in the submission of annual grant reports as well as grant renewals. The successful candidate for this challenging role will have excellent interpersonal skills and a track record of organisational experience in running clinical trials. An ability to work flexibly under pressure, to manage complex internal and external interactions, and to interact effectively with senior executive and scientific teams within The Institute of Cancer Research and the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust will be essential for this role. A high level of computer literacy (including MS Office suite) is essential, together with the ability to learn and exploit new software packages as required.
Appointment will be on a fixed term contract for two years in the first instance, with a view to this becoming a longer term position, with a starting salary of £53,648 to £63,115 (with the possibility of more for an exceptional candidate). This post benefits from generous annual leave entitlement and a defined benefit pension scheme.
