An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research MR Physicist to work at the Centre for Perinatal Neuroscience, Imperial College London. Queen Charlottes and Chelsea Hospital is one of the very few hospitals in the world to have dedicated 3 Tesla MR scanner located inside the neonatal unit for research.
You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of MR physicists, neonatal neurologist, neuroradiologists, and research fellows at Imperial College London, led by Dr Sudhin Thayyil, and will be responsible for developing and deploying novel cerebral magnetic resonance biomarkers for quantifying the brain injury in newborn babies, including MR spectroscopy biomarkers and diffusion tensor imaging based biomarkers. The post will be ideally suited for highly motivated MR physicists intending to pursue an academic career.
The post will be at post-doctoral Research Associate level; however, promising candidates without a PhD would be considered. Please note that if the successful applicant does not hold a PhD they will be appointed to the Academic and Research Level A grade with a salary range of £29,350 - £32,520 pro rata per annum.
